A new generation of growers, made up of 32 business associates, were the driving force behind the regeneration process that the San Francisco Javier Cooperative has undergone. The real investment has gone into the vineyards where there has been a decided restructuring and replanting of the vineyard area. The long history of the winery was started in 1939 by a group of 120 growers, in the town of Liédena, who decided to make their own wines. The total surface area of planted vines measures 120 hectares, of which a large percentage are over 40 years old.
