BODEGA COOPERATIVA SANTO CRISTO DEL AMPARO

A group of growers in the localities of Aibar and Leache drove the creation of this co-operative, in 1937, with the aim of making and controlling their own production. The main incentive was the quality of grapes that they were growing in Val de Aibar, right at the centre of the Baja Montaña area. Garnacha is the principle grape variety in this region and the alma mater of the wines of Aibar. Now the associates involved have a total of 500 hectares at their disposition and together they have the capacity to produce 5 million litres.
