This area of powers includes matters relating to proposals for a Regulation, in addition to amendments, management of the various Registers (vineyard proprietors, wineries), classification or declassification of grapes, musts and wines, issuance of certificates of origin and guarantee logos, approval of the labels used for the protected wines, establishment of harvesting rules and standards, preparation of statistics, management of fees.
The Regulator Board dedicates a large part of its human and material resources to promoting the wines coming under the Designation of Origin.
In order to strategically direct its promotion policy, a long-term Marketing Plan is established to define the lines of action to be followed. Marketing and market surveys are organised on a yearly basis in order to analyse trends and, where appropriate, re-orient strategy.
Likewise, an Action Plan is defined, with the following activities being worthy of note:
